I found Mike Arodak (May Custom Homes) through Angie's List. There was a handyman deal for 40 hours of work at a good price, so I bought the deal. I was planning to use the 40 hours and get a quote to do more work. I ended up contracting to do two complete bathroom remodels and a couple other minor projects. The project included the complete remodel of two full bathrooms. My bathrooms are small, and the house is old. Plumbing was upgraded, with new shower valves and shutoff valves. I converted one tub into a walk-in shower, and both showers now have insets for my soap and shampoo. The master bathroom didn't have a door, so Mike installed a sliding barn door. It's nice because it doesn't take up much space. He also replaced the windows in each bathroom. Lastly, there was a hole in the dining room floor where I had a leak repaired. Mike filled the hole with concrete and replaced the floor with tiles I provided. I am happy with my new bathrooms. The quality is good and I haven't had any issues since they finished. Mike was responsive. I normally would text him if I had a question or concern, and most times he responded right away. His team was friendly (I got to know them well while they were here - nice guys!). They put down butcher-type paper in my house to keep the floors clean and cleaned up after themselves every day. In short, I am very happy with the outcome. The project took a little longer than I had hoped (partly because I asked that only one bathroom be done at a time so we would have a functioning bathroom during the remodel), but it was done professionally and Mike is a great contractor to work with.
