I recently purchased a mid-century Gainesville home in need of a lot of love, including replacement of its sagging, tar & gravel roof. I interviewed at least ten roofers to install a well-insulated (~R-10) standing seam metal roof, but none of them came close to offering what we needed, or had the skills to do so, until Austin walked in from J & S. Unprompted, he began to describe exactly the materials and construction we wanted, to the point where I began calling him my "Cinderella Roofer" (but not to his face)! Not only did he come through with all his promises, he communicated well with me in language I could understand, was flexible enough to pause work when additional repairs or electrical upgrades were needed, and his crews were extremely hard-working and professional. Despite being interrupted by hurricane Ian, the roof went on in a timely, organized manner with no surprise additions or drama. I am delighted to recommend J&S to anyone, but especially if you have a low-pitch roof (ours is 1/12), unique construction, or any out-of-the-ordinary issues that come with an older home. Our new roof is sturdy and gorgeous.

We feel lucky that we found Brant Hulst and his team (Bob, Jennifer, and more) at J&S Roofing and Construction. They have been the pinnacle of professionalism and courtesy through this entire process. We are conducting this transaction from states away in Texas to help our relative who bought a small (1500 sq ft) fixer upper house in Archer. Brant and his team submitted a very detailed bid with photos to help us understand the condition of the existing roof. Their company has the BEST labor warranty on the market (7 years over the industry standard of 5). Brant was readily available by phone when we had questions and sent over many photos to document the tear off, repair, and installation processes. The work crew on site was courteous and cleaned up thoroughly. Brant and his team were also able to help us get attic venting done at the same time in conjunction with a bathroom remodel and kitchen vent hood install. Jennifer & Bob went above and beyond to help us match the correct color shingles to the brick on the house by driving out to the property and discussing it in detail with our Mom (homeowner). Even this was a relatively small project, Brant and the team were precise, careful, and thoughtful about all details from permitting, repair details, coordinating concurrent projects, timeliness, cost, shingle color, and more. We feel extremely well taken care of by the team- their responsiveness is second to none. The new roof is beautifully and solidly installed- it breezed through final inspection. Brant and his team will more than earn your trust- they have our business for life and we highly recommend them to anyone in need of roof repair or replacement.

I contacted J&S roofing via email. The very next day I received a call from Austin and we set a time for him to put a bid on our roof. He came by on a Friday, I met with him and discussed the roofing options that were available. There were times when I had to call or text Austin after normal operating business hours and I always received a quick reply. Austin is very respectful, professional and his customer service is second to none. Fast forward a few weeks, I turn in the contracts and Austin said he needs to move up the start date about a week and a half, which was no problem at all. On Monday, the dumpster was dropped, the crew started the roof demo, dried the roof in and they were finished with my roof Tuesday evening. I think that's pretty quick for a 1600 SQ ft house with valleys and a couple gables. The cleanup was excellent!!! I ran my magnet around my house twice and only found a few nails (I've worked construction my entire adult life and hands down this is the best cleanup after a roofing job I've ever seen). My roof looks great, the cleanup was excellent and J&S roofing had the best price. I recommend these guys to anyone!!!
