Needed a new roof because of damage my old roof had from storms. Called several companies for estimates and from the beginning Steve Stanley with Kayco roofing was early for the meeting and was able to answer all the questions I had. If I had a question about something and I called him he either picked up on the first or second ring the two times I called him. The crew that came to do the roof was on time and their work shows that they are very good at what they do. They were able to complete the job in 2 days and they made sure when they left that everything was cleaned up and how I like it. Wish I could give more than 5 stars cause Steve and his crew were exceptional.

This is a fact-based review rather than an angry-based review, which would have been the case had I written it in Dec-2025. As such, it took some time to convey my experience with KayCo and the sales person Josh Cagle. I contacted KayCo in 2022 to get a quote but unfortunately given the waffling and inconsistency of insurance I was not able to get the roof. Fast forward to 2025 and past those issues I reached out to KayCo to get an updated quote. I was told they would honor the 2022 price. From that moment forward communication was bad. My calls were never returned. We started back in Sept-2025 when I signed the NOC and relevant documents and told Josh I would let him know either Oct or Nov as a start to get the metal roof. One would think they would have solidified the necessary material and check-offs having more than enough time to be prepared for a Nov install. When I emailed Oct 16 and gave Nov as an install he confirmed next day via email it would be scheduled. Hearing nothing after 2 1/2 weeks later, I emailed Nov 3rd inquiring about the schedule. It was nothing but one excuse after another. Always telling me that metal takes longer. Well I’ve already been through this with another house and had metal installed and did not have this issue. Why would it take a month from Oct to still give me no reasonable answer why the operations manager or supplier, as he said, could not pin down a date. Every call I made he said he would call back - no that never happened. The last straw was when I called and he said the same thing I had been accustomed to hearing only to confirm once again he would call back regardless. By 4 pm that day I called and left a message and said I was no longer interested in the company doing anything regarding the roof. I sent emails to all interested parties canceling and requesting them to cancel the permit. I had already spoken with the Gainesville City Permit office who instructed me on next steps and the form to send to KayCo to cancel the permit. I also sent by FedEx the same documents as a precaution. They responded via email, filled out the form and sent that in to cancel and I moved on to another company who installed the roof in Jan-2026. Had I done this sooner, the other company would have been able to do the roof in Dec-2025 but it was already Christmas time. They have 2 roofing crews, one metal and one shingle, and no one was scheduled for metal, which is what my roof will be. Clearly there is something internally that has happened in this company. Or maybe it’s the sales guy Josh having no oversight to ensure customers are not being ignored. My friend recommended this company and I told her what happened and she was shocked as her experience, with a different sales person, was not the same.
