The Red Roof in Tallahassee was such a treat for a budget hotel. 'QUEEN TESSA ' I gave her that name, the manager, was incredible!! She not only manages the hotel; she also cleans the rooms. I examined everything bathrooms and beds for an A+ cleanliness score. I was on a trip to New Orleans and then back again to Miami for my trip home to Italy. I ended up having a 4 night stay in 2 different rooms. RED Roof is a well kept secret in cost effective overnight stays. They are blessed to have her as an employee. For a budget hotel, this place was very nice. Don’t know what the other reviewers experienced, but both our rooms were clean and bug-free. Desk clerk was very accommodating and allowed us to check the beds for cleanliness before checking in. No soaps or shampoos, and door key on one room was a little wonky, but they swapped it out promptly. TV worked and otherwise no complaints! Would absolutely stay here again.

I’ve not checked out. Hoping to go back to sleep for few hours. Night Staff pleasant. Room clean except for some hair in the tub. No microwave. No mini refrigerator. When I checked in the smoke alarm in room was chirping. Staff said to push button on alarm to reset it which I asked them to do, and they did. I was awoken at 4:44 AM from the chirping of the smoke alarm again. I pushed button to reset it. Now unable to get back to sleep. Unacceptable to not allow guests to sleep well due to their own negligence.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star… only thing good about this hotel is that there’s a Cracker Barrel next door. Front desk is little to know help, I asked them when I first checked in where I could find a beer and some food, his response… “Wendy’s”, I told him, as I chuckle, “they don’t sell beer there” he responds with “you can look on road”.. right off the bat they come across as rude and unwilling. Get around to actually using my room and getting my dogs settled, NONE of the plugs work except for the 2 in bathroom area. When I went to tell the front desk it was clear that customer retention is not anywhere near the top of their list. On top of all this there was a rather large individual that stood outside all night smoking black and milds while he screamed into the night sky like he was going to war or something. Very odd. I think the owners need to purchase another type of business because running a respectable hotel is just not in their abilities.

The oppressive, damp smell permeated everything - like mold, mildew, and years of neglect had created the perfect breeding ground for every imaginable pest. The bedding was visibly stained and filthy, furniture was falling apart despite being slathered in countless layers of paint to mask the decay. Upon closer inspection, the sheets were riddled with holes, mysterious stains, and telltale black and opaque dots - obvious signs of bed bug activity that Red Roof Inn Tallahassee - University management has been ignoring.
